Physical Commerce, Secured by the Blockchain.
We are building the first fully decentralized physical goods marketplace in East Africa. By replacing centralized middlemen with smart contracts, we guarantee that buyers get what they paid for, and sellers get paid instantly.
The Trust Deficit
Online marketplaces in Africa suffer from a massive trust deficit. Buyers are afraid to pay upfront for fear of receiving counterfeit goods or nothing at all. Sellers are afraid to ship goods without payment for fear of being scammed.
Traditional solutions like "Cash on Delivery" are logistically expensive and dangerous for couriers. Centralized escrow services take high cuts (up to 10%) and can hold funds hostage for weeks.
The Web3 Solution
Kimironko acts as a trustless intermediary. When a buyer purchases an item, their funds (in USDT or RWF) are locked into an immutable smart contract on the blockchain.
The funds cannot be accessed by the seller until the buyer confirms receipt of the item. Kimironko as a company never holds your funds—the code does.
How the Protocol Works
Lock Funds
The buyer deposits USDT or RWF. The smart contract holds the funds securely. The seller is instantly notified that funds are secured.
Fulfill Order
The seller ships the physical item to the buyer. Because funds are verifiably locked, the seller ships with 100% confidence.
Release Payment
The buyer receives and inspects the item. Upon approval, the smart contract automatically routes the funds directly to the seller's wallet.
Platform Architecture
Designed for the realities of the Rwandan market, powered by global decentralized infrastructure.
Seamless RWF to Crypto Routing
Not everyone holds crypto. Buyers can pay via local gateways (Mobile Money, Cards) in RWF. Our backend liquidity providers instantly convert this to USDT and lock it in the contract. Sellers receive stable, inflation-resistant USDT.
Decentralized Dispute Resolution
If an item arrives damaged or isn't as described, either party can raise a dispute. The locked funds are frozen. A decentralized network of bonded community arbitrators reviews evidence (chats, photos) and votes on the outcome.
Sub-cent Transaction Fees
By leveraging Layer 2 Ethereum networks (like Base), the gas fees for locking and releasing funds are fractions of a cent, making it economically viable even for small transactions like buying a used smartphone.
